Around 2007 when the real estate crash happened and 90% of the world lost their homes because the value of the homes didn’t match with the debts of mortgages. When I started Packing Service, Inc., I was going to people's homes with my Mustang and folded new boxes, and drove to customer’s homes, packing their belongings in the boxes, wrapping their furniture and leaving, then customers called and asked about also loading their items into their rental containers and trucks they provided, with Time I needed something bigger, then I got a van, for the van I needed magnets to place as advertising and take them off because the community where I was living back then, didn’t allow commercial vans with advertisement in the community, so I had a white van and would place magnets on and off, so I found a guy printing magnets and also designed them, all in one shot, so we spoke and agreed to come to meet at his printing place which was his 2nd bedroom in this condo, he was a real estate agent and was in the real estate business for over 15 years in New York, and came to South Florida to start fresh, he wanted to grow his printing business, he knew everything about photoshop and had knowledge about printers, and connected the dots to create a system to make a living.
We sat for 2-3 hours, I told him how I wanted the car magnet signs, he designed and printed both on the spot and agreed to keep in touch, since then we started to do a lot of Shabbat Dinner with his brother, he was and still is a hair stylist, and all the time I came to him for months he tried pushing me to read the first book. First we watched the movie The Secret, then pushed to read the book, honestly I wasn’t into reading books whatsoever, then he told me to read only the summary of each chapter, then start the full book. I started to read each summary, liked them, and started to read the book fully, it helped a lot in the beginning.
He slept on my sofa over a hundred times, we would talk about business, energy, steps to build websites, advertise it, create money, making customers happy and living growth, after a few years he had his own shop with a few printing machines and maximized his potential, and still does.
About his brother, amazing guy, when we first met, we were going all 3 on a vacation, first moment we met, we argued for 1-2 minutes who should get into the door first, out of respect to each other, “no you get in, no you get in”, that shows you the person’s personality of respect to each other, very hard to find these kind of people these days, we did many Shabbat Dinner at his place, back then he was working for a hairdresser boutique for someone else, for many years I would tell him "quit, you can have your own shop, you have the power and knowledge and people around to help, do it” and for many years he replied “Are you crazy? I am too old to open my own shop” for a very long time he kept saying the same.
When I got the 2nd book, I gave him a copy and promised him that after he will finish this book, he will never have a boss ever again, and after he finished reading the book, his first words to me that came out from his mouth, was “I will never have a boss for the rest of my life, I told my boss that I am quitting, I found a partner who wants the same thing I want, and we are looking for a place and might found one in Hollywood, FL”, they moved in 1-2 months after fixing and renovating the place, and they are both still in the same shop over 10 years, that shows there is no age limit, it is all about the way we think and use the knowledge we carry each day.
