Boat guy (Services type of business)

Thank God for blessing me with hundreds of miracles in my life, one of them was the home I have lived in for the past 13 years (minus 2 years in Israel for a vacation), one of my goals before I moved into this paradise, was to live in a place where every day is like a vacation, to feel new energy and see limitless things as your view from your balcony, and thank God made it happen.

The place I live in is one of the very few apartments with one of the best views in South Florida, I can literally write a book only about the apartment, the ocean, the intracoastal, the yachts, the high-rise building, over 10 of each type of animals in the water, on ground and in the air, it’s like I have the biggest aquarium in the world, I see all types of fish in the water of the intracoastal (connected to ocean), and see yachts parking as any parking lots out there having cars as yachts, and see many people come and go from above without anyone knowing each other, not me nor them.

In the middle of the Corona Virus, I saw this guy with a very old truck, and was the owner of a small boat, wouldn’t even call it a yacht, maybe 10-12 people can be on it while driving it, so the guy started small, he would have 2-4 days out of the week and have 4-6-8-10 people with him as guests, and each one would pay around $50-$80 per trip of 4-6 hours, depending on how many people and how long, then driving places would be always the same way back and forth, go north up the intracoastal then go south, park each side 30-60 minutes, drive them around 4-6 hours total, play the music they like, the guests would bring their own food and drinks, come back to the docks, get them out happy, clean, get paid, pay for gas and parking monthly fee (included water and electricity), and do the same the next day.

In the beginning, for the first 1-3 months, he had 4-6 per week, each day, and each time would be around total of one trip $550-$650-$750-$850 per trip, for 4-6-8-10 people, once you have a boat, a place to park, get people in and out safe, clean it daily, way to get paid, make customers happy, then copy and paste each day, then not do one per day, do 2-3 per day, and this is what he did, in 3-6 months, the guy advertised and got customers and did 3-4 trips per day, he would come to the location, and again, I see him every day from above, I don’t know the person, never spoke with him before, never face to face, no kind of communication, see him each day building a system and making customers happy, and a lot of money into his pocket, by building a system, connecting dots, make money, pay expenses, pay taxes and fees, make people happy and grow your life, business and future.
So again, when he started with 2-4 trips per day, then after 3-6 months doing 3-4 trips per day, 6-7 days a week, each day, same system copy paste.

So his system was:
Buying a good boat that people will like and pay to be in to enjoy its energy
Get a place to park with easy access for in and out for customers to be safe and park their vehicle, with water and electricity to wash the inside and outside, and prepare before each trip to have it cleaned
Get a Name of a Company
Tax ID
Local License
Insurance
Business card (with phone number, email address, logo, name of company)
Advertising by flyers, and posting onsite to attract customers
Book jobs and collect the right information (name, copy of ID, credit card number, and a signed form for legal protection and insurance)
Gas each day when can and prepare each day to have the boat ready to go to create income.

Most people say about boats, you enjoy the day you buy and sell your boat, because they don’t use it nor enjoy it as much as they would want to, because they don’t have the TIME for it, most boats and yachts stay in the same place as cars, when we don’t use them they are wasted, like homes not rented, you “lose” money by not making money, nor not making money if you don’t rent it, same about a boat (and Jets), you can use the time of it, and rent the time/space of it, by having someone else enjoy being on it, and paying for the time on the boat, so once you collect and charge per person and per time/hour, then you use the time to create income.

So long story short, the guy had a new SUV truck after 6-9 months since he started, he would show up around 8:00-8:30AM, wash the boat for 30 minutes, take 4-6-8-10 people for 4-5-6 hours, come back, wash it for 30 minutes, load new 4-6-8-20 people, again for 4-5-6 hours, come back, wash it, and I would see people waiting for him for 30-40 minutes for him to wash and go up on the boat, 2-3-4 times in 1 day, 6-7 days each week for months, until the Corona started to be more tough, one of the people working in the management showed one of the apartments to a new future tenant, and saw him from above washing the boat while 8-10 people waiting for him to be done, so they can get on the boat, and that was his 2nd trip that day, like in a movie, I saw it from the top, seeing her looking at him, videotaping his customers waiting for him to finish to clean, then reported it to the office, they probably told him to stop and gave him the notices on paper for him to stop, 1 week after, like in a movie, I saw a tow boat towing his boat, 5 minutes after, I see him seeing it, kicking the grass saying “mother fuckers”, running to the boat, was about 50 feet away in the water, he ran back probably to the office management to get his boat back, and since then didn’t see him here with his boat, he probably paid the fine and got it back, This place doesn’t allow to have a business running through the property, it is their place and they want to make sure no one is using their location as a business, only as residential or for parking only with boats.

But just so you all know, after 2-3 months, I saw the same guy with a huge yacht maybe 5 times bigger than his last, and doing the same, and charging $2,000-$5,000 per trip, and having the first and smaller boat, operated by a different worker, as a driver working for his business.

This is a great story about a person I have never met nor seen, if he would read this, he would feel like I am stalking him, while I was sitting in my balcony and watching this as a movie each day, every person in the world can copy paste this system and make money from renting hourly their boat or apartment or boat house or Jets or Cars, there are thousands of ways of things and items to make profit from, it is all about what you love to do. Personally I never was into the water world, not about boats nor jet-skis, every person is different and want different things, I could myself, copy and paste his system and buy a boat and have a driver doing exactly what he did, if I really wanted to, it would be easy.
